Fast Track SuccessFactors Onboarding approach
As part of a transformation plan focused on the attraction of talent, Eramet has redesigned the way to welcome future employees. To facilitate their onboarding, Eramet chose SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding solution and trusted its historical partner since 2010 ARAGO Consulting for the implementation project.
Context and goals:
Eramet is a French mining and metallurgical group, listed, founded at the end of the 19th century. Eramet has around 13,000 employees in 20 countries on 5 continents, with turnover of around € 4 billion.
The attraction of talent is an important issue for a group operating in BtoB markets, little known to the general public. The Group’s Human Resources Department is undertaking a study on the employer brand, accompanied by an action plan.
Soon, a problem emerges: the onboarding of new hires.
“We recruit employees who can join the group 3 to 6 months after hiring, having very specific contacts with the company during this period,” says Frédéric Crey, Compensation and HRIS Manager. “Our goal was to keep this contact with future employees during this period, to facilitate their integration and to create a privileged link.”
The HR Department then decides to set up an Onboarding process.
In 2010, Eramet chose the SAP SuccessFactors solution, called Talent @ Work, to manage performance, salary revisions, job offers and recruitment. It is therefore natural for the company to check with SAP to evaluate the Onboarding module of SuccessFactors.
ARAGO Consulting, Eramet’s HRIS partner since 2010, organized a meeting with other clients who have already implemented this module. Convinced by this benchmark, the Eramet HR team began implementing the solution, with the objective of having a pilot operational in less than 5 months.
The Fast Track approach proposed by ARAGO Consulting was chosen with the aim of accelerating the project and respecting market’s best practices.
To meet this deadline, Eramet has adopted the Fast Track approach proposed by ARAGO Consulting, starting from an already pre-packaged version of the module that can then be adapted to its needs.
“We did not have a dedicated team, and we had to go fast. The agile method proposed by our partner interested us, it was well suited to this type of project where it requires flexibility, unlike other highly structured processes such as payroll, “says Frederic Crey. “We immediately applied the pre-configuration and we quickly tested it, to offer a first version to users.”
The project was thus deployed in 4 months.
Once the future employee is recruited, he receives a welcome email message with its access to the SuccessFactors Onboarding module. The platform allows him both to load the administrative information to prepare his case, and take notice of his future work environment, the welcome message that has left his future manager, and navigate through the different thumbnails, on group information or company information.
Feedback from new hires is very positive. They appreciate the news about the group and the company they will integrate, and especially the visibility on their future work environment and the team they will work with.
Eramet plans to deploy the Onboarding module more broadly, in a first time over the entire perimeter France.
