Top 3 new features in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time and Attendance

In these difficult times, employees are more than ever a top priority for companies around the world. With the First Half 2020 Release (1H 2020) SAP is adding a raft of new features to its SAP SuccessFactors Human Experience Management Suite to support companies and their employees. In this blog post we look at some interesting novelties within Employee Central Time and Attendance.

Time valuation

“Working nine to five, what a way to make a living!” Dolly Parton sang in 1980. Fortunately, most of us can now work “nine to five”-ish. For example, we can choose to work a little longer on Monday so we can then leave a bit earlier on Tuesday afternoon to attend a school activity of our child. As long as we ensure that on the whole we perform our contractually agreed hours within predetermined boundaries (the flex-time bandwidth). As of release 1H 2020 SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time and Attendance offers extensive support for Flex Time scenarios! From now on, Time Valuation will, in addition to the planned working time from the work schedule model, also take into account the flex-time bandwidth that can be defined in the work schedule of an employee.

Team Absence Calendar

Managers will be happy with the new version of the Team Absence Calendar in SAP SuccessFactors. In addition to their direct reports, they can now visualize multiple organizational levels in the team calendar. And they can now also freely add employees to the Team Absence Calendar, even those who aren’t under their direct supervision. Role-based permissions are of course taken into account!

Shift Planning

Companies that use a shift planning tool for the planning of their employees will be delighted with the possibility to connect shift planning systems directly with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time via a new OData API. Previously, work schedules had to be maintained twice in both systems. Release 1H 2020 makes it possible to forward deviations from the standard work schedule as temporary changes to the regular work schedule, which hugely simplifies the management of work schedules in EC Time.

This concludes our top 3 of new features in SAP SuccessFactors EC Time and Attendance, but there’s much more to discover in this exciting 1H 2020 release! Feel free to contact us if you want to learn more.
